SAINT MAURÍCIUS MONASTERY

Monks have lived in Bakonybél since 1018. Our first king Saint Steven, founded the monastery on the recommendation of the Benedictine monk, St. Günter, among the picturesque fields of the Bakony.

PANNON OBSERVATORY

Pannon Csillagda is an astronomical experience park. On 400 m2, we go from the initial theories of Earth and astronomy through antique binoculars, maps and other devices to the largest expeditions of space exploration.

CASTLE OF CSESZNEK

One of the gems of Bakony mountains can be seen from above on the serpentine of the main road between Győr and Veszprém.

CISTERCIAN ABBEY AND VISITORS' CENTER

The medieval Zirc Cistercian Abbey was founded by King Béla the 3rd in 1182.

The historical Library is located on the second floor of the abbey building. The first books were brought by the monks who founded the new monastery in the 18th century.

ARBORETUM OF ZIRC

This collection of living trees in our country is located on the highest elevation - in the center of Zirc, in the historical surroundings of the Cistercian Abbey, an arboretum of national importance and under nature protection.

MTM BAKONY MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES

The zoological and botanical exhibition in the building of the Cistercian Abbey presents the living world of Bakony, but here you can also see a mammoth skeleton discovered at the border of Csajág.
